I have considered this book in the past, but then I decided not to pursue it. I thought it might be to political for me. I would only be interested the part John Hinckley Jr. so I am curious to know how much of the story is centered around the assassination.

I would say the last third of the book discusses the assassination attempt, and then Reagan's presidency after this - all of his health issues and other issues that are a result of his near death experience.
